Deimos – The Dreadmaker, Cyclops Marauder
Hey everyone!
Welcome back to the Monster Menagerie, our weekly showcase where we introduce a powerful Dungeons & Dragons monster, complete with a 3D printed miniature and ready-to-use character sheet so you can bring unforgettable encounters to your tabletop RPG campaigns.
This week’s Monster of the Menagerie is a towering terror known as:
Deimos – The Dreadmaker

We sat down once again with Phil, our resident Monster Menagerie handler, to learn more about this devastating cyclops marauder.
JC: “Phil, I’ve heard the ground shakes when Deimos walks. What exactly are we dealing with here?”
Menagerie Handler – Phil: “That’s no exaggeration. Deimos is a Huge Monstrosity, and one of the most dangerous creatures we’ve had pass through the Menagerie. Classified as Challenge Rating 8, this cyclops isn’t just strong—it’s relentless.”
JC: “Cyclopes are known for their brute strength, but Deimos seems different. What makes him special?”
Phil: “Deimos was shaped into something far more dangerous than a typical cyclops. He carries a massive morningstar capable of devastating blows, and he can strike multiple times in quick succession. But what truly makes him terrifying is his ability to adapt during combat through what we call his Augmentation Surge.”
JC: “Augmentation Surge?”
Phil: “Exactly. At the start of each of his turns, Deimos undergoes unpredictable physical mutations. His hide might harden, granting resistance to damage, or his muscles may convulse with power, creating shockwaves that knock adventurers off their feet. And worst of all, his cyclopean eye can unleash a psychic burst that leaves victims stunned and vulnerable.”
JC: “So he’s not just brute force—he’s tactical disruption too.”
Phil: “Very much so. He can also slam the ground hard enough to knock entire groups prone, hurl boulders from a distance, and unleash terrifying glares that frighten even seasoned adventurers.”
JC: “That sounds like a nightmare encounter for any party.”
Phil: “It gets worse. Deimos possesses Legendary Actions, meaning he can act between turns. He can reposition, intimidate, or unleash sweeping attacks that hit multiple targets at once. Parties that underestimate him rarely survive long enough to regret it.”
JC: “How would a Dungeon Master best use Deimos in their campaign?”
Phil: “Deimos works perfectly as a boss monster, warlord, or engineered weapon of destruction. He could be guarding ancient ruins, leading marauder armies, or serving as the final obstacle between the party and their objective.”
JC: “And for those brave—or foolish—enough to face him?”
Phil: “Dungeon Masters who adopt Deimos receive his full character sheet and a detailed 3D printed miniature, complete with all stats, legendary actions, resistances, and abilities needed to unleash him on their players.”
JC: “And he’s available for adoption now?”
Phil: “He is available for adoption here. But I’d recommend warning your party first… if you’re feeling merciful.”
