Though he is a local born and bred, few have ever treated him like it, save for his adoptive father and mentor, a monk from Sudd Tohst’s harsh wilderness. He taught Verek to fight, and to tame the temper in his heart, but when he perished at the hands of the Underkeepers, Verek swore vengeance. It was that fiery path to vengeance that ended with a dagger through his heart, yet miraculously, he lived.
