The Cultists of Quorenderi residing within the town of Westlook. These are his most devoted followers, those who have played into his desires by drowning themselves in the sea, reborn after, with Quorenderi’s influence now washed over them. Whilst others may still find themselves within the cult, the Drowned are seen as senior members, those who have ascended above their kindred and ultimately committed themselves to the Deep One. Whilst their forms are grotesque, the people of Westlook are unbothered by them, whilst outsiders seeing the Drowned rarely live to tell anyone after. Those Drowned that do show themselves to outsiders, often do so as a warning, though most reside in the caverns beneath the town.
Being the most devoted of Quorenderi’s followers, they are also those most willingly to throw their lives down for their dark patron. When outsiders need to be silenced, or stolen away for sacrifice, it is the Drowned who are most often called upon to see the Deep One’s will enacted. For many who have never left Westlook after leaving, the macabre face of a Drowned is the last thing they saw.
